Be My Lush Valentine : Valentine's Day Collection 2015

Sawasdee ka~
Can you believe that Valentine's day is approaching in 2 weeks, are you ready for it? Anyway, when I realise that Lush has released their new Valentine's day collection, apparently it was released on the 9th of January, I was sooooo excited. Everything is so lovely. So I end up buying almost every single thing in the range. Physically swooned~

To no surprise as a "love theme" there will be lots of hearts feature in the products. This year there are some new additions to the Valentine's day range and a couple of old favourites from last year (Prince Charming Shower Gel and Love Locket Bath Bomb). At the moment, I'm still putting everything in the shelf and wait for special occasion to use it. However, I think it might be great idea to share my initial thoughts about them.
Bubble Bar
- Heart Throb  £3.65 A very bright red 'sandwich' style that separated with gold glitter lining and breaks easily into 2 halves. I honestly couldn't explain the exact smell. It smells florally but clean. Heart throb also contains organic shea butter and corn flour to keep your skin soft.

- Lonely heart £3.50 A glimmer of golden lustre that cover red heart. I love the smell. Really nice refreshing citrusy scent.

- Unicorn Horn £3.25 The prettiest bubble bar I have ever seen. Thumb up for Lush. I love everything about it. A lovely rainbow colour with sparkling lustre and little candy stars. I guess you could technically eat these star but I don't think it will taste nice? Let me know if you have already tasted it :) It smells very lavender-y and I love it. It's amazing!

Bath Bomb
Floating Flower £3.50 It has extremely strong jasmine scent. Although I love jasmine but I think it might be a bit too strong for me, but who know I might like it when I put it in my bath. It meant to turn your bath a beautiful colour. To mention, this bath bomb is super powdery so I don't recommend snorting them lol

- Love Locket £6.95 I did a review on this last year and I'm not really a big fan of this. I'm actually not suppose to repurchase it again. However I have no idea how can it get in my shopping basket lol. It's really big bath bomb so it meant to use for multiple times. When you crack open your Locket you will also find a smaller heart-shaped bath bomb hidden within. You can read my full review here

❤ Shower gel
- Prince Charming £9.50 It came out last year for the first time but I didn't get my hand on it. So this year I decided to give it a try. "The fragrance is made using a beautiful blend of grapefruit , sandalwood and geranium oils". That's what it said on the website but for me I have no idea how grapefruit smell like so to make it easier to explain I think this shower gel actually smells like Jaffa cakes.

 ❤ Soap
- Cupid’s Love £4.25 Uplifting, fruity smell with passion fruit juice and soya yoghurt. It's actually another version of Neon Love from Valentine's day collection last year but a little bit slippy and softer. The soap should have white heart in the middle but because I ask the guy in shop to cut it in half for me to make it easier to use.

Each bath bomb and bubble bar can use multiple times. It's depend on how generous you are :) So there we go! All in all I adore this collection and would recommend you to go to the shop and have little sniff before you decide to buy any of the products

SWATCHES & REVIEW : MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquers

Sawasdee ka~

I mention about this MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquers in my last post. I’ve had these lipsticks for a while now but I didn’t get round to reviewing them sooner. Anyway, I bought these because I heard good things about it. My first attempt to buy them fail because they were out of stock :/  So when I saw them re-stock again I didn't wait but grabbed them straight away...Typical me ha!

There are currently 10 shades available and I bought myself 6 out of 10 :Halcyon a warm peachy nude tone, Aflush a light corally pink, Funk a deep raspberry pink, Criminal a bright shocking pink with blue undertone, Reckless true red and Kooky vampy purple for the brave. As you may know from my previous post, my favourite out of them all is Reckless ❤︎
My first impression is actually packaging. It looks super sleek with black and gold detail on the lid and that frosted tube make them look more luxe. Can't believe it's only £3 each! The applicator is doe foot which works really well for this lip lacquer.

In term of product itself, I have to say that the finish is vary from shade to shade which I will talk in detail later. These lip lacquers are incredibly pigmented and really opaque. I only need one swipe to get full coverage and it's easy to blend. These claims to be long lasting and kiss proof with a promise to get dry in seconds. I can confirm that it's long lasting but it doesn't dry in seconds. It need full five minute to completely dry and I do not recommend pressing your lips together while it settling and do not apply more that 2 coats as it will feel too cakey! However once it dries, it does not budge! I can even tap my finger on my lips and there is no bit come off. It's one of the long lasting lipsticks I have ever had. The downside might be the feeling of dryness on your lips but that is what normally happen with matte lipstick and I don't really mind about that. I found that apply lip balm beforehand does actually help with dry feeling and wear a lip liner underneath help with the longevity.

Right talking about the finish of each shade. All the bright bold colours are really amazing!!  For me, I always apply lipstick before breakfast and with these lip lacquers I don't have to worry about re-applying it. To mention though, it tends to transfer or flake if you eat oily food. For nude/light colour, like many other brands that do matte lipstick, they often encounter the super dry finish when comes to nudey shade and to no surprise Halcyon and Aflush is actually one of them. I'm pretty disappointed by the fact that I love the colours but once it dries it clings on to lips and make my lips look like dry land especially when you smile :/ If you can't imagine you can look at the picture below. I've actually tried a few different things to stop this from happening, but still the same thing happened :(

Overall, I'm really impress with the quality and price tag of the products. I couldn't wait for new shade to come out.

Have you ever tried MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer? What colour do you like?

2014 Beauty Favourites

Sawasdee ka~
Happy New Year everyone! I know I know I have been disappearing for errrrr...almost 3 months >__<  I'm really sorry for not keeping you up to date. Well, apart from having little holiday in Thailand (which I will write a post about it some time soon), I actually busy with writing paper publication. If you are new to my page you might not know that I'm currently a final year PhD student so thesis and writing up some scientific journal are my first priorities. But don't worry I won't leave this blog I will still be here to make a regular post :)

In the past year, I have been fortunate enough to have tried a lot of beauty products. Surely, there will be hits and misses. And as the new year start, I think it would be great to write about products I've been loving in 2014 ( I realise that I might be the last person doing this -__-") and I have a pretty strong feeling they’ll be leading the way in my routine in 2015 as well.

❤︎ SKINCARE
Lush Tea Tree Water Toner is an essential step in my skincare routine. I have been using it for 2 years. Although at some point I get bored and want to try something new but I always end up go back to this toner. I have acne prone skin so tea tree is actually natural product that can work really well with my skin type. It's cheap and it works wonders. My crazy acne seems to be reduced, and new acne seems smaller and more manageable

Biotherm Life Plankton Essence Well this product was launched in Thailand some time last year and many Thai bloggers have been raving about it. So when I when back to Thailand I bought myself 2 bottles and end up loving this product! It help healing my problem skin and make my skin looks more radiant and softer. It's expensive (almost £50 for 125 ml) but if you want to invest something on you skin this it worth a try. Unfortunately, this product is unavailable in UK. From what I know it only available in Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore and Canada

Indeed Laboratories Hydraluron Another product that I keep repurchasing it over and over  (especially when it's on offer lol). I used it every morning and evening before moisturised my face. Although I have oily skin but my skin also dehydrate. This thing doesn't clog my pore, not sticky and keep my face hydrate without making my face greasy. Hydraluron is  not an overnight miracle though, it takes time to actually feel the benefit of using it.

Origin Super Spot Remover This tiny blue bottle works really well with spot. You may think this is a measly amount (10 ml), but I have been using this constantly for around 6 month. and it just doesn't seem to disappear that much. Well, I usually only apply the product on the pimple and not the skin around it. Meaning I don't go overboard and put it everywhere. I notice that the spot either calm down or disappears after around few days.

Hiruscar Post Acne The last product I love in skincare category is this magic tube. I have been using many products that claim to reduce acne scar before and by far this is the best. I found that it speeds up the process of lighten the dark post acne mark. The effects were not noticeable by the day but after a period of time the result is pretty obvious.

❤︎MAKEUP
Rimmel Wake Me Up Liquid Foundation Hands down my most favourite and used foundation of the year. I have loads of foundations in my stash from both high street and high end brands but this one is actually the best of them all. I love it so much so easy to find and so affordable. I love how it feel on my skin and how easy it is to blend. It's light and not cakey but it has good coverage

Benefit Porefessional What can I say about this I think most of people know what it does. I usually put it on a specific area on my face where large pore visible not all over my face before apply foundation. It make my makeup goes on smoothly and help reduce the appearance of pore around my T-zone. Believe it or not, this one little tube last me over a year so if you think about it, it's not expensive at all.

Benefit Hoola This product is brilliant for contouring. I like to contour my face to give a bit of dimension to it. It is perfect for using both day and night. I use it basically almost everyday not just for contour my face but as an eyebrow powder as well.

Kiss Eye Brow Pencil If you can remember earlier last year I post a beauty haul from Japan, here. And this is one of the items that I bought with me when I went to Japan. A twist up brow pencil that perfect for lazy girl like me. No more sharpener. I would say it's pretty expensive if you buy from the link I gave you but it actually considers really cheap if you go to drugstore in Japan. What I love about this product is its consistency and the lasting power.

Sleek MakeUp Eye&Cheek Dancing till Dusk 27 Another great value palette that I always reach for especially when I travel. Last year was the year of travel I have been to many places and packing my make up is actually one of my problems. This palette actually saves me a lot of space. It's a great basic colours range that will suitable for both casual and glam effect.

Burberry Lip Cover Devon Sunset 2 As much as I love bold lipstick I also into nudey lipstick last year. And the lipstick that I always reach for when I want some corally nude is this Burberry lip cover. It applies really nicely, light-weight and very opaquely which no patchiness feeling

MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer in Reckless I have been loving ever since I can get my hand on it. It's really pretty red colour. Easy to apply, very long wearing and it's only £3. What else could I ask for. I will upload more review about it on my next week post :)

❤︎EXTRA
Herbal Essences Clearly Naked Dry Shampoo Talking about dry shampoo I'm a bit sceptical about it. In my head I only think about powdery dry white head that make me feel itchy so I didn't expect much when I bought this dry shampoo. Turn out I love it so much after the first time I have used it. I was left with hair that looked nice and non-greasy and to my surprise this is the first dry shampoo I have used which doesn't leave a white power residue or make me feel itchy. And it smell AMAZING!

Have you ever tried any of these products?
